Alumni
Manuel Navarro and his sister are first generation Americans. They
grew up in Paso Robles with two hardworking parents who emigrated from
Mexico. Both children were regular attendees at the Boys and Girls
Club throughout their school years. They were the first two members of
their family to be born in the US and attend college.
Manuel is a junior at UC Davis, majoring in Political Science. This
summer he will intern in Washington DC for the UN. His goal after
graduate school is to work for an inter-governmental organization, like the United Nations, throughout the Americas.
“The Boys and Girls Club has not only created a foundation of community
and positive socialization in me at a critical age, but it has
influenced me to use my opportunities to give back to the others in the
world.” |
