Amalia Campoverde
Youth Development Leader
Amalia was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Liberty High School this past school year while earning three Gold and one Silver achievement awards during her senior year. She is currently attending Cuesta College with the intention of transferring to a four-year university where she would like to major in nursing which she says will help her reach her goal of becoming a doctor.
She enjoys working at the Club and helping the children with their homework and during her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the theatre, and spending time with family.
When envisioning the future for the kids who attend the Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County, she sees them developing the motivation and courage they will need to complete their education, take charge of their future, and help others and themselves.
Anthony Long
Youth Development Leader
Anthony graduated from Independent High School this last June and is attending Cuesta College with the current intention of majoring in engineering.
His past experience working with children has included tutoring through a home school co-op and various volunteer activities within the community. His current position as a Youth Development Leader allows him to "work directly with the kids to help them become outstanding citizens." This past fall, he taught eighteen Club members how to rollerblade or improve on their previous skill and throughout the school year, he is the PowerHour leader for 6th-12th grade.
During Anthony's free time, he likes to go jet skiing, wake boarding, and bmxing but he found doing almost anything outdoors including snowboarding, mountain biking, dirt biking, quad riding, swimming, body boarding, camping, sledding, and hockey.
Anthony wants to see that every Boys and Girls Club kid realizes their full potential and is provided with the skills and opportunity to become successful adults.

Kelly is "very excited to be a part of an organization like the Boys and Girls Club where [her] job everyday is to help guide and inspire the children in our community to achieve their goals and dreams." She also admires how accessible our Club's programming is to the families of the North County community and can't wait to see our Club emerge as a leader in quality afterschool programs in North San Luis Obispo County.
Michael Cornelis
Youth Development Leader
Michael grew up in the Paso Robles community, attending schools in the Paso Robles Unified School District from kindergarten through 12th grade and is currently attending Cuesta College with the hopes of transferring to a California State University next year where he would like to major in History and Archaeology.
His past work experiences have including carpentry, door manufacturing, and technical manufacturing at Applied Technologies Associates. Michael has also competed in information technology fields such as computer repair and inter-networking. Additionally, he enjoys history, drawing, photography, playing the guitar, hiking, surfing, and tinkering with computers - providing him with a lot of great experiences to share with our Club's members.
Michael's goal working with the Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County is "to provide a positive experience for the kids and to offer them skills, support, and positive mentoring that [he] wishes [he] had growing up." He hopes to see Club members develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and a positive "can do" mind set, which will enable them to handle any situation in a constructive way benefitting both themselves and others.
